BioBlitz is an annual weekend-long event in which teams of scientists, teachers, volunteers, and community members join forces to identify and learn about the local plant, insect, and animal species.
The BioBlitz booklet is designed for people unfamiliar with biology, flora, and fauna of the site. After reviewing previous BioBlitz booklets, I switched the pre-existing plain text format to a fully illustrated booklet that relies on imagery and simple diagrams rather than blocks of text.
A pocket-sized Insect Identification booklet was introduced when I took over the event design. Instead of bulky letter-sized Word documents from past BioBlitz events, I designed a small, illustrated, easy to understand booklet.
